Raising Backcountry Kids
Becca and Lane Walter take their two boys Easton (8) and Camden (6) on their first backpacking elk hunt. The boys have been raised around hunting but this is the first time they will have to pack some of their own gear on their backs and hopefully see some rutting elk!
FILMMAKER BIO
Lane is a career firefighter and avid bowhunter. Growing up hunting, Lane started to pack a video camera so that he could share his experiences with friends and family. That passion to tell a story is still the motivation for him to pack a camera on every hunt today. Lane attended his first Fulldraw Film Tour around the same time he started to run a camera for a TV show and was instantly inspired by the amazing film work that he had seen. Today Lane works as a freelance field producer & photographer, partnering with companies whose products he already uses, to capture photos and video while he is in the field. When he is not on his own adventures, Lane is working for shows like The Crush, Pure Hunting ect. When Lane is not working on projects for other companies he is working on personal projects/films.
Lane’s goal is to capture the raw emotions that are involved within a story or hunt and his passion for hunting is evident in all parts of his life. He enjoys being behind the camera just as much, if not more, than when he is holding his bow at full draw. The harder the hunt the more Lane enjoys filming it, although he loves filming any hunt, his passion is in filming high elevation species like Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats and Ibex.
Lanes two sons started bull riding, and this opened him up to capturing rodeo content, he has filmed in the arena for PRCA events and smaller youth rodeos. Lane lives in Loveland Colorado with his Wife and 2 sons.
